Fluxus Appoints Jeffrey Sebelia as new Head Designer

Fluxus appointed Project Runway winner Jeffrey Sebelia as Head Designer. His collection is a mix of special wax treatments, sheer modal, and black stripe burnout putting a twist on the classics to give them a cool update while maintaining the everyday functionality Fluxus is known for. Introducing a line of knit garments in cutting-edge treatments, cuts, and shapes, the Fluxus partnership with Jeffrey redefines and challenges traditional silhouettes in easy-to-wear fabrics, creating, “a blend of classic fashion and modern flair.”
When Fluxus owner Martin Paquette met Jeffrey in August 2009, it became clear that the combination of Jeffrey’s elegant rock’n’roll aesthetic and Fluxus’ art-driven philosophy would create a revolution in the apparel industry. Introducing a line of knit garments in cutting-edge treatments, cuts, and shapes, the Fluxus partnership with Jeffrey redefines and challenges traditional silhouettes in easy-to-wear fabrics, creating, as Paquette puts it, “a blend of classic fashion and modern flair.”
Jeffrey lends his signature avant-garde edge to the brand, evidenced by the collection’s synthesis of his three inspirations: the backstage of a ballet rehearsal, the dance floor of an 80’s disco night club, and the front row of a rock concert. With Sebelia at the helm, the Spring 2010 line reinvents its formula through the use of special wax treatments, sheer modal, and black
stripe burnout. Jeffrey’s vision is both versatile and unique, putting a twist on the classics to give them a cool update while maintaining the everyday functionality Fluxus is known for.
About Jeffrey Sebelia – American designer Jeffrey Sebelia gained worldwide recognition when he was announced the winner of the Emmy-nominated Bravo series Project Runway in 2006. After working as a production designer on commercials and music videos, the designer created his own label, Cosa Nostra, in 2003. Jeffrey was honored as a GENart New Guard Designer in 2004.
The Los Angeles Times described his look as “dystopian rock ‘n’ roll—‘Blade Runner’ meets Vivienne Westwood’s Sex Pistols with a touch of Oscar Wilde dandy.” His designs have quickly become celebrity favorites among the likes of Dave Navarro, a childhood friend, Gwen Stefani, Liv Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Marilyn Manson (whom he styled on his latest tour) and many more.
